Tamil Karam ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information We Collect
Text you submit for correction: When you tap "Fix Tamil Grammar", the text currently in your text field is sent to our server to perform grammar correction. This text is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers after the correction is returned.
Anonymous device identifier: We use an anonymous device identifier (generated by iOS) solely to track monthly usage within your free tier allowance (50 corrections/month). This identifier is not linked to your name, Apple ID, or any personal information.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identity information
- We do not store the text you submit for correction
- We do not track which apps you use the keyboard in
- We do not use your text for training AI models
- We do not share any data with third parties for advertising or marketing
- We do not require account creation
How We Use Your Information
The text you submit is sent securely to our Cloudflare Worker backend, which passes it to Anthropic's Claude AI API solely for the purpose of Tamil grammar correction. The corrected text is returned to your device immediately. Neither we nor Anthropic retain this text after processing.
The anonymous device identifier is stored in a Cloudflare KV store and is used only to count monthly corrections. It automatically expires after 35 days.
Third-Party Services
Tamil Karam uses the following third-party services:
- Anthropic Claude API — processes your Tamil text for grammar correction. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare Workers — hosts our backend API. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Data Security
All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. We follow industry best practices to protect your data in transit.
Children's Privacy
Tamil Karam does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 4. The app does not contain any content directed at children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
